2018 Farm to Fork Dinner

SeedFork of The Highlands 2018 Farm to Fork Dinner Cookeville, Tennessee

On Saturday, August 25th, 2018 SeedFork of The Highlands Held our Third Annual Farm to Fork Dinner.

It was a beautiful night of great food, conversations with friends old and new, and celebrating local food heroes in our community.

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers and coordinators, mainly Connie Lawson, the Table settings were beautiful, complete with stunning arrangements from Three Sisters Farm (Check out their website, they sell flowers locally in Cookeville!).

We had some wonderful Vendors join us, including Calfkiller Brewery, Red Silo Brewery, Tennessee Legend Distillery, Broast Coffee Roasters, and Del Monaco Winery. Life Support Holistic Health and FFA also set up booths!

We could not have pulled off this event without Tiffany Zelner and her CHS food prep class, and our other volunteers who worked tirelessly to help set up, prep, and serve all night long.

The band Heart and Soul played while our chefs prepped food and our president, Randy Dodson, welcomed everyone. A huge thank you to Jim Stockton of Stockton Farms, Bill Hedderick of World Foods, Andrew Ellis of The Blue Pig, and Steven Ford.

Dinner was 4 courses: Crostini with a variety of spreads, Cucumber Gazpacho, Watermelon Salad with Goat Cheese and a Mint Dressing, Smoked Beef and Pork with Chimichurri and a Vegetable Hash, and dessert was a Berry-Sugar Cookie Trifle (with all local ingredients, of course).

Chef Rodney Laulo of The Back Room Bistro and Wayne Moss of Little Creek Produce were honored as our 2018 local food heroes. We will continue to honor one chef and one farmer each year at our Farm to Fork Dinner. Voting will open in Spring of 2019.
